My Process
Nurturing Care
As an experienced Postpartum Doula and Owner of New Life Doula Services, my goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and labor.
DONA Postpartum Doula certification education included extensive instruction in mothercare, newborn care and infant development (including care of preemies and multiples), breastfeeding, bottle-feeding,
postpartum mood disorders, childbirth recovery and support of all family members during the transition into new roles. I have completed Lifesavers CPR and First Aid Certified. I have over 20 years of federal government experience working with programs such as Statewide Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs) and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Death in the Young (SDY). PQCs are recognized as a network of multidisciplinary teams improving population-level perinatal outcomes in a state (or group of states) by implementing quality improvement (QI) initiatives, which advance evidence-based clinical practices within healthcare centers and systems across the state(s). PQCs facilitate collaborative learning; provide technical assistance to healthcare facilities in conducting QI initiatives; and disseminate statewide successful interventions, policies, and practice changes.
I founded my business in 2010 in Gwinnett County, GA, and consider myself blessed to have found such a fulfilling career. I love working with expectant mothers and their families to help them navigate the birth process. I look at each new birth as a unique experience and in return I provide birth parents with the encouragement and motivation they need.
